Józef Czapski’s “Na nieludzkiej ziemi” in Czech thanks to the support of the Book Institute and Polish Institute in Prague

Just before a major anniversary of the Katyn massacre, the Czech edition of the classic work of Gulag literature Na nieludzkiej ziemi (“The Inhuman Land”) by Józef Czapski was published. The publication was supported by the Book Institute and the Polish Institute in Prague.

 

Jacek Dehnel and Piotr Tarczyński nominated for the ERBD Literature Prize

The ten nominees for the second edition of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (ERBD) Prize included the English translation of Jacek Dehnel and Piotr Tarczyński’s Tajemnica domu Helclów (“Mrs Mohr Goes Missing”). The book was translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones, a winner of last year’s Transatlantic Prize. The book was published with the support of the Polish Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Anna Zaranko receives Found in Translation Award

The Polish Book Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London, and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York are pleased to announce that the 2020 Found in Translation Award goes to Anna Zaranko for her translation of The Memoir of an Anti-hero by Kornel Filipowicz, published by Penguin Modern Classics in 2019.
