Published by Albin Michel Jeunesse, the book J’ai vu un magnifique oiseau (“I Saw a Beautiful Woodpecker”, published by Dwie Siostry) by Michał Skibiński with illustrations by Ala Bankroft and translated by Lydia Waleryszak has been nominated for the Prix Sorcières 2021, the most important French award for children’s book authors.
A translation of Wiesław Myśliewski’s Traktat o łuskaniu fasoli (“A Treatise on Shelling Beans”) has been recently published in Turkey. The book was translated by Neşe Taluy Yüce. The publication was supported by the Book Institute as part of the @POLAND Translation Programme.
The nominations for the PEN America Awards have been announced. In the “Poetry in Translation” category, among ten nominated entries, a selection of poems by Marcin Świetlicki entitled Night Truck Driver, translated by Elżbieta Wójcik-Leese, can be found.
