“The Doll” in German and Other Translations

Several significant translations have recently been published abroad, supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Bolesław Prus’s “The Doll,” which was introduced to German-speaking readers by Lisa Palmes and Lothar Quinkenstein.

The translation of “The Doll” was published by the Swiss publishing house Kampa Verlag, renowned for its translations of Polish literature.

In addition, translations of the following books have also recently been published:

  • Rafał Wojaczek’s “Sanatorium” into Ukrainian (trans. by Taras Nazaruk, published by Drunken Boat)
  • Hanka Grupińska’s “Ciągle po kole” into German (trans. by Andreas Volk, published by Metropol Verlag)
  • Mapy by Aleksandra and Daniel Mizieliński into Bulgarian (trans. by Krum Krumov, published by Benitorial)
  • Ale odlot! Jacek Ambrożewski’s illustrated history of aviation into Korean (trans. by Young Hwa Kim, Pulbit Publishing Company).
