A translation of Wojciech Górecki’s report Abchazja has been published in Italy. The translation by Marc Vanchetti was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Program.
The book was published by Keller Editore.
Abkhazia closes Wojciech Górecki’s Caucasian triptych, which began with Planeta Kaukaz and Toast za przodków. Wojciech Górecki is one of the few people who had the opportunity to observe the birth, development and decline of the Abkhazian parastate with disputed borders and an unclear status over the course of twenty years.
Marco Vanchetti has been translating Polish reportages for years. His portfolio includes books by Małgorzata Rejmer, Grażyna Jagielska and Jacek Hugo-Bader. Earlier, in a duet with Vera Verdiani, he also translated another work by Wojciech Górecki: Planeta Kaukaz (the Italian edition, also published by Keller Editore, came out last year).
